I’m confused by the reaction to MTG on the left. I thought this was what we wanted? Someone on the right realizing the error of their ways and acknowledging why what they did was wrong. Are we not supposed to be broadening the base and welcoming strangers etc.?
Exactly! I don’t think we can know unless we give them a chance. I feel like it requires at least one of the parties involved to have faith in the others sincerity, for the other to then prove, or dissolve the faith given. I’m concerned that we’re not finding our way to offer that faith to the folks just seeing the light.
Megyn Kelly's comments really sent me into orbit this week. We live in a culture that even today teaches children and young women to be quiet and obedient to authority figures especially male authority figures. Those poor girls that Epstein trafficked had NO AGENCY, no support, and it seems that many of them had already been failed by parental figures and were essentially cut loose to fend for themselves well before they were able and were vulnerable to the pitch of help from Maxwell in the form of money, work, college or in one case braces. And that attention seeking cow has the unmitigated gall to provide on air apologia for middle aged men preying on teenagers for sex. I'm still fuming.
Also trump's fuckery with the military is absolutely disgusting and frightening. He destroys everything he touches either directly or he erodes the character and ethical base of the people around him molding people in his image. Seems that perhaps the upper echelon of the military is somewhat resistant but I'm concerned about the rank/file being corrupted to become trump's private forces. It's rolling disaster.
