Now that it's out of my system, let us discuss why this matters less than is implied here. CBS is a giant dinosaur that died ages ago but hasn't fallen down yet. I don't get my news from CBS, or any other 'network' (a prehistoric name from back when broadcast media had to be a 'network' and you had three choices). I don't know of anyone who does. This deterioration of the classic 'news media' predates Trump by decades. The yowling about the 'Death Of Print Journalism' was deafening back in the 90's, for God sake. The buy-ups by Bazillionaires is just the fin de siecle for this little drama.
I fired the WaPo back when Bezos started getting stuck up Trump's ass. The NYT has good and bad days now. My skepticism filter is far better developed now than in the past. I verify almost everything. Fox runs a first-rate polling operation, Al Jazeera has has excellent investigative reporting, and they both get the old gimlet eye from me just as I give LP. I should sign up for Ground News, I think. Everything and everybody is moving over to pods and independent news. Flawed and Biased? Absolutely. But it's on *me* to weed out dreck if I really want to get something close to the truth. But then again, it always was, old Walter just gave us a false sense of security, being The Most Trusted Man In America, and all.
I haven't watched CBS (Compromised Bulls**t Station) since "Big Bang Theory" was new. My entire news input is from indie networks who have not sold their souls and integrity to Trumplethinskin.
I disagree, an interview with Kirk's widow is not newsworthy. We will not learn anything new. It is being done to add MAGA viewers to the CBS audience.
Trump tore down the east wing of the white house and the meaning behind the Statue of Liberty with his new american security stategy and now he has taken down CBS news and will replace it with fictiion.

MSM sold itself to the devil in 2015 when it trashed Clinton and ignored Trump's obviously unqualified and dangerous candidacy. There is no going back for them. It's up to the public to minimize their influence, but that won't happen either, because the Republicans have spent years "dumbing" them down by eliminating the teaching of history and civics, and buying up media outlets at all levels.
I’m surprised they didn’t invite conspiracy theorist Laura Loomer. She and her fellow Trump worshipping conspiracy theorists have been exclusively invited to cover Pentagon press conferences. Real media sources like the New York Times and Washington Post have now been denied access to the Pentagon.

My single view of Kirk and his wife was conference for young women; they gave terrible financial advice.
