We want our nation back the way it was before Trump/Heritage Foundation/Putin destroyed it. We want the criminals to pay with their money and their time. We want our government restored to pre-DOGE status and all fired persons willing to return be reinstated and made whole.

We want the Heritage Foundation and the Federalist Society out of the SCOTUS and out of our government. We want all Trump-appointed judges revetted and remove the unqualified ones. This goes for the three he appointed to SCOTUS because we know they were appointed by the detested Federalist Society.

We want all the tax money stolen from the Treasury to be clawed back from the thieves and then some.

And, dammit, we want our East Wing rebuilt to look the same as it was but up to code because it is OURS and that fat bastard has no right to destroy everything he has destroyed. That includes our foreign policies, USAID, all those other organizations destroyed immediately upon Trump's swearing in.

Most of all, we want all who participated in war crimes to be shipped to the Hague and that Jack Smith try them. Those J6 pardons must be invalidated. No argument - they were bribes pure and simple or bought for millions that was bilked from victims.

We want legislation that removes the USPS from the endangered species list and postal workers treated humanely for a change.

We want all insider traders aka war profiteers to have their ill-gotten gains stripped from them.

As for all these illegal wars, people far more educated than I can deal with that but it must be dealt with and everyone connected must be exposed and tried.

Restore the Dept of Education. Eliminate ICE in its present format. Is it too much to ask that desperate people trying to get asylum in the US be treated like humans and not vermin?

As for birthright citizenship v. "heritage" citizenship - that must never be given the time of day ever again. We need new citizens and new ideas and new intelligence. I was brought up to believe in America as the great melting pot. That is who we are and no one gets to destroy that.

This is for starters because, We, the People, have a lot of work to do and we can do it.

And this is just for starters.

Yes! Joe wanted to move on and I understand that impulse, but it's nearly destroyed us. If we don't have trials and prison sentences for these people, we won't continue to support the democrats.

Cheeto’s Corruption Of Conservatism

The always brilliant Thom Hartmann over at Raw Story(https://bit.ly/3OBrVZm) writes a distillation piece on today’s “conservative” movement aka the CNPP(Conservative Nazi Pedo Party) explaining its evolution since Eisenhower in the 1950’s to today’s dysmorphic conservatism that supports inequality based on a financial platform where government works only for the wealthy

This type of “I’ve got mine, screw you” political attitude currently has permeated all 3 levels of government and is far from what the conservative movement in the 1950’s meant which was to not radically or rapidly change society without first thinking through the consequences in detail, and then, when you do decide to make changes to the rules of society, you move forward in measured increments. Conservatively

Over decades of policies to ravage the principle that all men/women are created equal and aided by the likes of the John Birch Society, Reagan’s demand to cut social safety net programs, and Clarence Thomas’ corruption of SCOTUS, today’s conservative movement has become a fascist haven for the plutocratic wealthy class(Musk, Theil, Karp) willing to strike any corrupt deal that furthers their ends(Cheeto, Jared, Don Jr)

WE the People have slowly unconsciously witnessed the wealthy take over our country and turn it into a quagmire of corruption and graft It’s time to wake up and demand a equality and restore accountability

Thank you Lincoln Square and Thank you Stuart Stevens. Prefect message at this time. Thank you Virginians for voting Yes. These words really hit home with me: " stay angry; remember; and do not forgive. We must do this to save ourselves."

Who do you suppose planted the idea for pursuing this redistricting in Trump? He embraced and promoted it, but I doubt originated it.

Thanks for encouraging often weak and squishy dems to make sure the criminals, crooks, and cons are held accountable. The trumpemberg trilas need to be a reality. No more Obama type, let's move forward and forget the past crimes of the banksters and fraudsters. No more slow walkers like Merrick Garland, whose sloth like approach failed to move quickly on trump's obvious crimes. Dems need to stop snatching defeat from the hands of victory by trying to appeal to maganuts, proud boys, and steve bannon. If the pope can kick trump's ass by standing strong, I would hope dems see that not backing down is a winning strategy. No one is a fan of corruption unless you are part of the trump Epstein Class, the musk billionaire bros and trump's crypto cronies. I hope the dems learn some lessons from the pope, Hungarians, and Muhammad Ali, who famously said, float like a butterfly and sting like a bee. But with dems it needs to be more bee than butterfly...

Morning, Frank

Though I was never a fan of many in the GOP, the monstrosity that has evolved in recent times is an abomination of all things American. Much can be dated back to Nixon's Southern Strategy, and then the emergence from under their rocks of the racism that came after Obama was elected.

I hope we can take back the country. But I listen to some on the right and it often sounds like they'd prefer a civil war than to accept the will of the people. Trump continues to destroy what it means to be an American and our place and image in the world.

BTW, Trump in 2025-2026 has issued more executive orders than Joe Biden did in four years, and signed proportionately far fewer laws. He doesn't respect any part of the Constitution and believes that the SCOTUS and Congress should kneel to him.

Thank you, Mr. Stevens I feel that I am battling doge with Department of Veterans Affairs in Wichita, Kansas. Yes I won my fight to get my medicine restored. Now I need surgery. I don’t mind saying, that I am afraid, I don’t want to end back up in a wheelchair. The Va calls me no kidding, then I call them back and they don’t know why they called me. I don’t want to see other veterans in the gulf treated like I have been. My gosh mystery meat. I foresee the sailors being sick by food poisoning. I especially agree with you about Hungary. They still are celebrating their victory. I hope when Democracy is taken back by democrats my concern is AIPAC that I watched on IHIP News. It truly scares me . These dark money advocates. I have learned that pacts in my opinion are just plain evil. I can only hope that I have enough fight left in me. If you like Independent Media please subscribe to Lincoln Square.

Thank you Old and tired. I won my medication back perhaps, I can have my surgery done.

Good morning, Linda.

I am so sorry to hear about your difficulties with the VA. I'm not a vet, but the son of a WWII vet and the brother of a Vietnam (Tonkin Gulf) vet. I know how the VA hospital in Wichita was. My father died of cancer there in January 1972 at the age of 61. If it hadn't been for the VA, we would have had a gruesome time getting minimal treatment in the outside world without insurance.

I don't want to see any veterans not get the quality treatment they deserve, whether in the Army/Navy/Air Force system or the VA. But the GOP seems hell bent on disassembling the VA system. Even though some of them are veterans themselves, they do not understand that many physical and mental issues coming from having served are different than the civilian world doctors have experience dealing with, so outside doctors probably will provide nominal or even wrong treatments.

Dark money is the curse of American politics. Unfortunately, with Citizens United, the SCOTUS declared that money was free speech, and he with the biggest pockets can flood the market with whatever they want.

Take care and G-d bless.

BTW, former Kansan.

Totally agree with you Stuart, the pendulum is swinging in a different direction. We maybe aren't as angry as we should be, but we shouldn't fear and cower either. We should RESIST and INSIST that we get our democracy back on track, our lives depend on it!

What last night's vote in VA shows is that people don't like partisan gerrymandering, but they understood the assignment - that this is a necessary measure to combat actions by red state republicans, where I might add, not a single vote has been cast on the issue. TX, NC and other red states jammed this through their legislatures and never even considered putting it to the voters. Because they knew what would happen. That shows Democrats govern, but republicans rule.

I'm not surprised the result was closer in VA than it was in CA. That's the difference between solid blue states and purple states.

I think a big part of the reason it was so close is the super dishonest ad campaign Peter Thiel’s PAC ran in the state. I live in Virginia and voted yes, but I got TONS of mailers from Thiel’s PAC that cherry picked Obama and Spanberger quotes from years ago that made them seem against the amendment. Tons of TV commercials with this sentiment too.
