The Right is terrified of any critique of America anywhere and at any time. Why all the energy behind this? Because they don't want us to understand that our nation is fundamentally flawed, structurally and socially; the two being complimentary and informing each other.

But one disturbing factor is the resonance between the American public's seeming inability to hold a thought over time, and Trump's lack of focus, loose associations and scattergram memory, deliberate lies and the confabulations of dementia.
