I sincerely enjoy Rick's take on campaign consulting and how insiders see things. Even without Trump being an ignorant corrupt greedy slimeball, wouldn't the "President" be in trouble? Shouldn't competent campaign managers warn a candidate not to make promises he either can not keep, eg. lower prices on day one, or promises he has no intention of keeping, eg. releasing the Epstein files? If your campaign in 2020 was "promises made, promises kept" should a candidate keep promising impossible things?
I'd like to see numbers on how people (Republicans and Democrats) feel about armed gangs of masked ICEstapo thugs roaming the streets arresting all the brown people they happen upon.
Andrew, congrats on your new gig here. You're killing it. Your context-rich analyses are *exactly* the fine wine I need paired with all the qualitative politics and story-telling I get from your colleagues over there.
Trump may not 'know' this stuff, but he certainly senses it. His thrashing around and now explicit threats of violence do not exactly speak of a strong leader with an iron grip on the country. He may even believe that he can abuse us into 'loving' him. A female friend of a certain age wisely observed that he strongly resembles a 'bad boyfriend' with insecurity and daddy issues.
Andrew he is sinking 💨 the polls! Well he is sinking fast into the abyss! The President of United States 🇺🇸! Well he will not be anymore as will his staff! You cut off the head in this case no one else will be able to take his place! Thank you Andrew! Happy Thanksgiving! Make sure no name rocks in his chair and read your daughter Shakespeare! 😂 😂 😂! My paternal grandfather always rocked me and gave me tootsie rolls very small ones!
The thing that "HE" can't seem to understand is "affordability" many in congress don't either. Many of them aren't listening to their constituents (which they were put in congress to do). They are aristocrats who know nothing about going to the grocery store and seeing the end result of prices through the roof. It's pretty obvious when he said he would take tariffs off a literal "handful" of items and nothing more. Affordability isn't just a handful of groceries, it's rent, gas, healthcare, and many things that "most" Americans deal with everyday and "HE" does NOT and never has in his lifetime. He wants to control "everything" but has no sense about most of it.
In your article, in the third paragraph you’re mixing up percentage and points. Those are two different things. You said Democrats are leading by 33 points. They are not, they are leading by 33%. When you do this, it just makes it look like you’re making things up and it would be so easy to just say the right numbers / stats, It’s still a really good story.
Let's hope that the elections do happen! And let's remember that the lower Trump's soft power sinks, the greater his exercise of hard power will be--the Border Patrol, Venezuela, threatening death to the Dems, prosecuting enemies, troops in cities. We are living under King George III combined with Mussolini.
What are the numbers on approval/disapproval of the new American Gestapo? (ICE) Coupled with the other 2 factors, Trump has alienated so many that the only way he'll stay in power is to take it by force and declare himself the American Emperor. AKA Mad King Donny.
The GOP has abrogated their responsibilities as citizens and representatives under the Constitution to become only the representatives of the extreme wealthy and the Duke and Baron vassals of the Mad King. I don't see any change in the winds or principled conservatives willing to step forward and fight to reestablish the party's 'honor'.
The Trump years will go down in history books as the worst decline in a nation since the fall of the Roman Empire. Donny von Caligula is at the heart of it, but he had a lot of backup from the right who decided that the real Constitution wasn't for them and impeded power and profit.
May those GOP nightmares be long lasting and prescient. Dems need to keep the pressure on trump multiple failures and GOP's inability to break from the cult. I just read that Swastikas were downgraded by kegsbreath from hate to potentially divisive. I can see kegsbreath next supporting the Nazi salute. Heil, trump!... More degrading of American decency from the party of family values.
Trump is a symptom, not a cause. All our toxic condition pre-dated him by decades and he was merely the instrument that brought it all together. The GOP became monolithic under him, so it will fall and be replaced by something else. What many of us miss is that the same thing is true of the DNC. None of this will end with Trump, his exit will just enable new conversations to begin.
Thank you Andrew, you make reading polls easy and understandable. And, the fact that they trend against Trump makes them delightful. Thanks.
I've been watching you and your dad on "By the Numbers" for some time now. Nice to see you here!

Time for the MAGA Party to cut the rotting man loose.

So felon Trump is taking the Republican party down with him. Seems to me that's a good thing.
Trump is a symptom, not a cause. All our toxic condition pre-dated him by decades and he was merely the instrument that brought it all together. These numbers are a "joy" to see this morning. Hope lives--even if we have work to do--the hope gives us energy. Thanks Andrew. Take care.
Is there polling on how much a war with Venezuela is going to pump the approval? 😉
The first MAGA mom receiving her son's body back from that Glorious War will have a microphone shoved in her face. She'll have something to say.
