Like the pollsters, we all suffer from a 'sampling problem'. At any point and at any time, we can always find an ignorant hillbilly 'pastor' (I, myself, am the 'Grand Poobah of the Holy Church of Georgeism') who calls for the death of whoever or burns somebody else's holy book, or whatever the outrage of the week is. Sure, it's 'dangerous', oh yeah, a lot of things are dangerous. The implication is that 'somebody should do something to stop that', but nobody will. We allow ourselves to get distracted by these glittery objects that flit by and get all huffy about what it 'means'.

Here's what it *means*: Talarico has scared the absolute shit out of the Christ-Nats. Why? He's taking the fight to them, and they're not use to it. He's showing us the way to win. Instead of sitting back and whimpering about how 'dangerous' and 'chilling' all this is, James Talarico responded to this yahoo with a good old Texas 'Bless Yer Heart': "I love you more than you hate me". Boom! Jesus mike drop. For those who don't speak fluent Toothless Southern Baptist, allow me to translate: "You're a vile little motherfucker and I'm in the process of taking you and your little monkey show apart like a cheap watch. Bring it, Bitch."

Thank you for this. I needed to hear more about this nationalism. I don’t want anyone to shove their version of Christianity on me. I grew up in America with freedom to believe what I believe

It needs to be pointed out that white Christian nationalists’ behavior is antithetical to everything that Jesus taught or demonstrated

The other thing that the White Christian Nationalist movement is like is The Handmaid's Tale written by Margaret Atwood! Here I thought it was just a "tale" but now it seems like a reality more than a dream!

Talarico Derangement Syndrome, otherwise known by its acronym TDS, is a real disorder.

Responding to an announcement about banning Sharia Law in the US today, I responded that we had considerably more of a problem with Christian Nationalism in this country and that both were unconstitutional.

This is how we get a Secretary of Defense Hegseth who has tattoos that reference the Crusades, the “Holy Wars” on Jerusalem from Middle Ages Europe. One tattoo takes up almost half of his upper chest. Creepy.

This is why the Military Religious Freedom Foundation got hundreds of calls about the kinds of things commanders were telling military members in just the first two weeks of the Iran War.

This is why legislators with military and intelligence backgrounds felt the need to publicly called for members of the military to not obey illegal orders — and why Hegseth wanted to have them punished for stating what is literally text in the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

Talirico should bring a lawsuit and demand a SS detail for his safety.

I will say one thing that I've said for years. There should be a separation of Church and State. My understanding is Church shouldn't be in government and government shouldn't be in Church. Thus Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Religion! Hate to say this but it sounds a lot like Sharia Law in the middle East!

Our Constitution clearly states that there shall be no test of religion in Article six.

Um, is the wishing death on someone part before or after the loving your neighbor part. It's so hard to keep that stuff straight.

All throughout history totalitarian ruled societies got hollowed out from the inside. Why? Because it suppresses diversity of thought, conscience, expression, speech. It's the choice only intellectually lazy and power hungry people make.

I can't believe America is this backward while at the same time it presents itself to the world as being the most advanced and innovative country in the world.

Listening to Musk (empathy is the greatest human weakness), Thiel (saving humanity is not necessarily a priority) and Trump (affordabillity, groceries...?, I don't understand what that means) it's extremely clear that immorallity, ignorance and blind loyalty, are the key conditions for the future of MAGA.

If Christianity plays a leading role in this scenario it needs to be targeted as not good for the social fabric of a free society; just like we did in Europe.

The USA as the Iran of the West. Picture that.

Sociopath Cheeto: American Fascists Don’t Get A Fair Shake With The Press

Laments come in all forms from Cheeto and his Nazi allies especially when they do bad things like killing American citizens, getting Delta Airlines to deport children and families to concentration camps(BTW boycott Delta), financial corruption in Cheeto’s regime(Lewandowski scandal), overpaying and using taxpayer $$$ for warehouses to be turned into concentration camps(as much as $50 to 100M) as happened in Utah supported by a corrupt Nazi Republican governor, an illegal war with Iran prompted by fascist Israeli Netanyahu, cratering the global economy, TSA waits due to Cheeto not wanting the funding until the SAVE Act passed(according to Cheeto “have to do it for….wait for it…Jesus!), ICE agents at airports with nothing to do, 2M Americans don’t have health insurance due to the Nazi Republican policy, Fed reserve reports zero job creation over the last 6mo, seizing ballots in California and Georgia, tried to indict 6 Congresspeople because they spoke up about military rights, killed 80+ in small boats claiming that they were narcoterroists without evidence

Have you heard enough? Meanwhile when Nazis are out on other less protected forums than they encounter on the Fox or other propaganda channels, they flail not answering commentator questions or misrepresenting facts or plan lying Truly tedious to listen to these fascists

These statements of “why do we(the fascsts) get such a raw deal from the press?” This blatant use of the victim card which has been the hallmark of Nazi Republican politics over the last 5 decades is now clearly been overplayed and WE the People are not only tired of it but refuse to believe the lies And it’s all the more reason that the press reliably cover these corrupt fascists in a way that’s appropriate to report this corrupt fascist regime

Quite frankly Joel and Doug make my skin crawl. I live in Doug country where he is building a part of his empire. The Founding Fathers tended to identify as Deists. We need to deal with the patriarchy. I would like to see a matriarchy. That would make some heads to explode.
