I’m so over Trump’s overcompensation for his small penis. That’s all this is. Another way for him to feel bigger and better than he ever will be.

As a Vietnam War veteran who has done his part to protect and defend the United States of America and its Constitution, I regard this parade as a ridiculous waste of taxpayer provided funds to serve one pathetic man's overly bloated ego. Hopefully VERY FEW people will show at Donald's Birthday Parade to make clear to him that we regard him as a fool.

Protests Here and In Russia

Over at Gary Kasparov’s Substack channel Next Move Gary shares his past experiences with what he learned in doing peaceful Mahatma Ghandhi/MLK like protests in Putin’s Russia He briefly points out the guardrails that one needs to follow individually but puts a spin on how the Democratic Party needs to step up as an institution to combat the Orange Cheeto’s Nazi party takeover of the country Gary Kasparov the Russian chess player now living in the US has a Substack channel He was one of many leading the Putin resistance movement and has great advice about peaceful protests and what role the Democratic party should play https://bit.ly/45nGSo9

"Because authoritarianism depends on performance. And performance only works when the audience plays along."

This is very good. Succinct. The other thing that authoritarianism cannot abide is ridicule, and having it come from vets will burn all that much more. Hold up signs saying "Sorry About Your Penis!" and sing rude songs when a missile truck rolls by. I doubt the media won't love that on the 6 o'clock news.

I cannot stand to see his mouth anymore. Plus it looks like his fascist father’s mouth. I see their images in my mind more than I see my own family’s. I hope the orange man chokes on a burger doodle. He certainly deserves it. I can’t think of anyone more uncomely than him I hope his lips are the first things that rot. Next, his teeny peeny that matches his pathetic hands. The only thing smaller is his mind. And sadly, the only thing more pathetic are the sad people who believe in him. I am wishing most of my family to death. I guess I do not care. They will not vote for democracy. So I say good bye.

What a hypocrite...and that's the nicest thing I can say. All this makes we want to scream...right after I throw up.

I hope a buttload of people show up for this spectacle in PROTEST and RESISTENCE! It will be perfect! I wish I could be there, won't be because of health issues but I'm dealing with them so I can protest in the future. It's truly important to protest "peacefully" they don't like it but they can't do anything about it either!

What would pure gold would be if Trump sees all the mockery he's getting and loses his shit, right there on the reviewing stand. He stands up and forgets what he's doing and where he is and starts screaming for all those weapons to be turned on the "disloyal" citizens so that their slaughter could 'send a message' to anyone else with such "nasty" ideas. He's addled enough right now that could happen, all it would be is for him to have a bad day.

This is bread and circuses, nothing more. No other president in our history would have dreamed of big footing his way into a celebration of the 250th anniversary of our military and making it about himself.

A man too physically cowardly to serve his country in Vietnam, a man who claimed that not catching STDs at Studio 54 was 'my Vietnam', a man who's derided veterans and war dead as suckers and losers, who's had the temerity to ask the father of dead soldier "I don't get it, what was in it for him?", a man so devoid of honest love for his country and any modicum of true patriotism that he used Arlington National Cemetery as the prop for a campaign ad, that degenerate filth of a man is the one turning a celebration of hundreds of years of duty and sacrifice into a pageant honoring himself.

Donald Trump doesn't love this country. He has no idea what duty, honor and sacrifice mean. He's repelled by our military wounded and wants them out of sight. And worst of all, he hates our fallen heroes whose physical courage and love of country led them to do something Donald Trump can't even imagine: serve a purpose higher than himself.

In their name and with their memory firmly in mind, I'll proudly participate in the No Kings protest.

There may be TV coverage of this spectacle, but it won’t be shown in the DC market unless it features FF47 and doesn’t show (too much of) the hideous fencing along the route. They’ll never show how many turn their backs – – or(hopefully) don’t show up. The Regime will claim hundreds of thousands, like his inaugurals. I won’t be there, of course. No Kings Day will prevail, but will ANY of that be shown? IDK. Be safe, Everyone!

Thanks for remembering the sailors, soldiers, Marines and airmen who will be forced into a possibly humiliating as well as uncomfortable situation. My dad was one for most of his adult life, and a Republican, but he'd hate this. I'm glad he doesn't have to feel the outrage I'm feeling. Donald Trump is a cancer on this country.

TURN YOUR BACK. If we learn anything from LA, it's that posters and protests play into the trump/project 2025 narrative. It is time to be smarter; to use visuals to our own advantage. The media covers visuals. We should hope thousands of people show up for the 'parade' on the 14th, not to protest, but to "Turn the Back." Quietly, in large numbers, repeatedly 'showing the back', will get covered. Remember the power of the Umbrella Movement in HongKong. 12-year-olds showing up in huge numbers with their umbrellas (in part not to be seen by cameras all over the city), pushed back on the the authoritarians--and for a time, delayed the takeover of the school curriculum they resisted. Ultimately we did not do nearly enough to support Hong Kong's indepedence. Let us not make the same mistake here. Turn Your back.

The thought of Trump's parade on Flag Day makes me want to hang my head and cry: What has happened to our country? It sure isn't happy Brithday Mr. President. I wonder if we all stood silently with heads bowed or backs tuned if Trump would get the message that adoration and might don't come by abusing our military in a disgusting parade? NO KINGS protests will abound. Let's flood the zone and stand strong for our country with determination. Thank you for your article, Evan. Take care.

Up until today, I had planned to attend my local NO KINGS protest. I am a mere 77 years old, but I am the sole caretaker of my 97 year old husband who has asked me to please not go because he is worried something bad will happen to me. I realize that, yes, if it does, what will he do? There is no one else on hand to help him. Only me. So I am sending money to causes, supporting Substackers, writing to Congress people, mine and not mine. Because he asked me not to. He did not order me not to. Please forgive me for putting him first. This is what it's come to due to MAGA and this very sick and disgusting git that millions of people continue to blindly adore. Madness, madness.

Thank you for understanding and for your support. I am always there in spirit and am so grateful that you will take me with you on Saturday. When I told him I had decided his well-being came first and I would not attend, his relief was palpable. He still has most of his more important marbles so I should not unnecessarily stress him. Making him fear I'm walking into danger is the wrong thing to do to him. He's a veteran, too, and we love our country. That there are millions here in the USA who have deserted our nation in favor of a con man devastates us. Bless you all! Stay safe ! Please, carry no flags except the Stars and Stripes, immediately sit down if violence breaks out, all the common sense precautions. All of us must live to continue fighting this horror that's taken us over. I can't love you all enough.

💙💞 Yes, we all have veterans to protest for: My own husband was too young for WW2 but went in afterward for "mop up," as he characterized it. My dad was in the Army in WW2 along with my mother's older brother, in the Air Force (the AAF then), and later, her younger brother was in the Navy on the aircraft carrier Essex. All are gone now but we cannot dishonor them. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Jane.
